role of hijab

Assalamualaikum w.b.t

Thank you to Allah, the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful because You still give me chance to enjoy this beautiful life. Alhamdulillah ya Allah. And I’m here to share about my opinion related to the title above.
First and foremost I would like to ask forgiveness for what I’m going to say because it’s just based on my opinion, and I’m in learning so probably my opinion is wrong.

What is hijab?
Hijab means something that cover up your hair and it is not only stuck for your hair but including your chest and it is traditionally worn by muslim women and modest women styles of dress.  As in Quran said that muslim women must covered up their “aurat” which is all of part of body except face and palm.


"O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies. That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be molested. "(Al-Ahzab: 59)

As we can see today many style of hijab that have been introduced to women. It is because women want to look beautiful. I admit that those type of fashions look very beautiful but it’s actually takes away the meaning of hijab. Hijab is refer to the way we act, the way talk and hijab also refers to modesty.




Modesty means that the manner of person that we can judge her as kind of person or whatsoever. Sometimes women that wearing hijab have overlooked this kind of factor. I’m not said that all women don’t take care of their modesty but some of them do.

The mistakes that ever occur for those who are wearing hijab are they like to show off their chest, neck and some people like to show off their hair too even they are wearing hijab (those who have long hair). Some women also like to make the ‘bonggol unta’ so that they can show to the man that they have long hair or whatsoever. It doesn’t make any sense even you are wearing hijab.


Hadis : Sabda Rasulullah S.A.W. bermaksud :
"Dua golongan di kalangan ahli neraka yang tidakkan aku pandang iaitu kaum yang bersama mereka cemeti seperti ekor lembu yang dengannya digunakan memukul orang lain dan wanita-wanita yang berpakaian bagaikan bertelanjang yang condong kepada maksiat dan menarik orang lain untuk membuat maksiat. Sanggul dikepala mereka ditusuk tinggi-tinggi seperti bonggol unta yang sangat lemah. Mereka ini tidak akan masuk syurga dan tidak akan mencium baunya sedangkan sesungguhnya bau syurga itu sudah boleh dicium dari jarak demikian dan demikian."(Riwayat Muslim).



So I think whatever the fashion it is, you can follow it but as long as you remember the requirement of wearing hijab, so insyaAllah you in His bless. So be carefully women out there. These are common mistakes that sometimes make us overlooked with that.
